Breton technology refers to the Bretonstone� system, a patented manufacturing process developed by the Italian company Breton S.p.A. This method combines crushed natural quartz with resins and pigments to produce durable, uniform slabs of engineered stone. The process involves vibro-compression under vacuum, which compresses and fuses the materials into dense, non-porous slabs. These are then cured, cut, and polished to create the finished product. Bretonstone� has become the industry benchmark, with many engineered quartz manufacturers around the world using Breton's machinery and technology under licence.

Cimstone�s quartz composition has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, giving it excellent scratch and abrasion resistance. While it is possible to cut and chop directly on a Cimstone worktop, we recommend using a chopping board to preserve the surface�s original appearance for years to come.

Unlike natural stones, Cimstone has no hairline cracks and does not absorb liquids, making it highly stain-resistant and easy to clean with just a damp cloth or regular household cleaning agents. In contrast, natural stones contain micropores and fine cracks that allow water absorption, staining, and bacterial growth.

Cimstone's compact, non-porous structure prevents bacteria from spreading, making it a hygienic choice for food preparation. It is NSF-certified as a food-safe surface.Cimstone is also highly resistant to acidic substances like vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil, and wine, which can etch marble or granite.

Unlike these natural stones, which may require polishing over time to maintain their shine, Cimstone retains its original glossy finish without the need for maintenance. Additionally, while natural stone availability is limited by quarry reserves, Cimstone can be produced in a wide range of colours to suit different design preferences.

Cimstone offers better short-term heat resistance than many other worktop materials. However, like all stone surfaces, it can be damaged by sudden and extreme temperature changes. To protect your worktop, always use heat-resistant mats or trivets for hot pots and pans.

Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to surface damage such as cracks, discolouration, or deterioration.

This is especially important for cut edges, inner and outer corners, and areas that have been processed.

Activities that generate extreme heat such as barbecuing, deep-frying, or making jam should be handled with extra care to avoid heat damage from reflected heat.

Yes. Cimstone's compact, non-porous surface does not absorb liquids or stains, making it an unsuitable environment for bacteria growth. Cimstone meets the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) regulations and is NSF 51-certified for food safety.This certification, which is also held by stainless steel, ensures Cimstone is a safe surface for both domestic and commercial kitchens.

Cimstone retains its gloss naturally due to the reflective quality of quartz. It does not require polishing, and polishing should never be attempted, as it can cause permanent damage. Surface shine is measured with a gloss meter, and Cimstone comes in two finishes: glossy and matte.For glossy surfaces, regular cleaning with a damp cloth and mild detergent is sufficient to maintain the shine.

Always follow detergent manufacturers recommended usage amounts and rinse surfaces thoroughly, as residue build-up over time may create a hazy appearance.

For matte surfaces, fingerprints and daily marks are more noticeable compared to glossy finishes, so they require more frequent cleaning. We recommend using non-abrasive kitchen and bathroom surface cleaners.Additionally, one would not polish Cimstone.

Cimstone is highly scratch-resistant, making it ideal for kitchen worktops. However, metal objects such as knives, belt buckles, or rings may leave metal marks on the surface due to friction. These marks are not scratches and can typically be removed with a non-abrasive cleaner.
