No surface is completely chip-proof�impacts, especially around edges near sinks or dishwashers, can cause chips. While a minor knife slip will typically dull the knife rather than harm the surface, it's important to note that no stone surface is entirely scratch-proof.

While some customers have chosen to use Vadara in outdoor applications, please note that such use is not covered under Vadara's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Vadara surfaces can be affected by sudden or extreme temperature changes, particularly around the edges, as well as by direct or prolonged heat exposure. They may not tolerate direct contact with hot pots, pans, or appliances such as electric frying pans, griddles, crock-pots, roaster ovens, or heat lamps. To protect your countertops, always use a hot pad or trivet under heated items.

Avoid exposing your Vadara surface to any of the following:

• Oven, grill, toilet bowl, furniture, or drain cleaners
• Paint and floor strippers, or tarnish removers
• Oil-based soaps and cleansers
• Battery acid or any other caustic substances

Immediately rinse the area with water if your surface is exposed to these types of products. Prolonged exposure may cause discoloration or damage to your surface.

Use a light or non-abrasive cleanser by applying it to a clean cotton cloth or paper towel, not directly onto the surface. Use a circular motion on the affected area, rinse and dry thoroughly.

The following cleansers are recommended for use on your Vadara surface with dried-on spills:

• Soft-Scrub® Gel with Bleach
• Bar Keepers Friend® Soft Cleanser
• Bar Keepers Friend® Spray and Foam Cleanser
• Windex® Vinegar Glass Cleaner

When using Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser powder, first apply it to a damp clean cloth or paper towel, then squeezing together several times to form a paste before applying to your surface.

To remove any adhered material such as food, gum or nail polish, start by scraping away the excess material with a plastic plastic putty knife. Clean any remaining residue with a damp cloth. Always thoroughly rinse off any soap or cleanser with hot water after cleaning and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.

Use a mild dish soap, such as Dawn® Ultra Original Liquid Dish Soap or Windex® Vinegar Glass Cleaner for daily cleaning. You may also use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water.

After cleaning, be sure to rinse your Vadara surface with warm water and dry with clean, cotton cloths or paper towels.
